Sensus is a 2D explorative game that helps users navigate modern challenges using familiar technologies. It focuses on authenticity and well-being in an anxious, self-staging world, encouraging players to explore their inner selves.
The game visually represents therapy's impact on the brain, illustrating neuroplasticity as new pathways form, shifting thought patterns and perceptions. Players engage in mindfulness by exploring neural “trees,” setting goals, and addressing habits or emotions tied to therapy stages.
Designed in collaboration with psychologists, Sensus is free, web-accessible, and fosters community, providing a tool for self-improvement regardless of financial background.

The brief was to design an interactive experience that explained therapy related ideas through a visual and approachable game world, while making wellbeing and self-reflection more accessible through digital interaction. The project was developed to support people who may feel overwhelmed by traditional wellbeing tools, or who may not have easy access to therapy and mental health resources, by creating an experience that could help users navigate emotional challenges in a gentle and engaging way.
Working in collaboration with psychologists, I helped translate complex concepts such as neuroplasticity, mindfulness, habit formation and emotional awareness into a clear visual system. My role involved developing the visual concept, game world, assets, storytelling approach and overall user experience. I focused on making the subject matter feel calm, accessible and easy to understand, using colour, metaphor, illustration and interaction to guide the player through the experience, which uses the language of the brain to represent personal growth.
The project helped the client turn a sensitive and complex topic into an engaging digital tool for self-reflection. It created a more approachable way for users to explore wellbeing, while showing how visual design and interaction can make emotional ideas easier to understand and connect with.
